Hardtop Anniversary 2017 will take place at the spiritual home of the Falcon Coupe in Bathurst N.S.W. We will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of the legendary 1–2 at Mount Panorama in 1977.

If you have followed the history of the HTA since 2007 on this page, you will see that when we started, although we were rookies, the weekend was a complete success. It is probably because the coupes have such a devoted following that the event has progressively grown from just under eighty cars in '07, to one hundred and fifteen cars in 2015. Echuca in Victoria has been the home of HTA since the beginning but due to the iconic location in 2017, we anticipate the numbers will swell to over one hundred and fifty entrants. Being closer to Queensland and Sydney will make it much more appealing to our Northern neighbours. Who knows, we might even attract a car or two from the Northern Territory.

The event will take place over the weekend of 10,11and 12th November.

We are unable to hold it any closer to the Bathurst 1000 race weekend for logistical reasons. Keep an eye on the website or log into our Facebook page, Hardtop Anniversary 2017 - Bathurst.

The event is open to anyone with an XA, XB or XC Coupe, Superbird, John Goss Special, Cobra or Landau.

Whilst it would be easy to make promises about what may take place, it is best to keep you up to date with things as they are confirmed.

We anticipate that we will have access to part of the track for a supersprint on the Saturday. There will be a show’n’shine on the Sunday and a presentation dinner including trophy presentation on the Sunday evening. This much we are sure of but stay tuned for updates.

2017 Event Format

• We would encourage all entrants to be in Bathurst by Thursday afternoon if possible. The first registration will take place between 2 pm and 4 pm on Thursday. This is a three day event and everyone needs to have completed registration no later than 3 pm on Friday.

• The second registration will take place from 10.30 – 12 noon and then from 1 – 3pm. The weekend will commence with a massed lap of the circuit by all entrants at 4.30pm on Friday and a meet and greet evening at the National Motor Racing Museum. There will be a BBQ with drinks and a wander through the museum. Two of the key Moffat Ford Dealer Team members will give a talk about their part in the preparation of the cars.

• Due to the unavailability of the track for any type of motorsport event, alternative activities are being planned. These will include cruising to various places of interest in the Bathurst area and a wine coach and lunch tour for any ladies who would prefer a day away from the guys. There will be a casual function in the evening at the Bathurst Harness Racing Club. There will be finger food, drinks, raffle draws, music and light entertainment involving entrants and partners.

• Sunday is show day. The venue for the show’n’shine will be in the heart of Bathurst. The show’n’shine will have trade stands, merchandise stalls, autograph sessions by the guest drivers and trophy judging. On Sunday evening, a presentation dinner will be held at the Panthers Club in the township. The evening will consist of trophy presentations, memorabilia auctions and an interview session with the drivers followed by a Q & A with the audience.
